Pretoria

Pretoria

Pretoria is also affectionately known as the Jacaranda City due to the gorgeous blooms of this tree which blanket the city in purple each year. Nestled in the foothills of Magaliesberg Mountains and stretching to the Apies River, Pretoria is lush, relaxed, and rather quiet.

The city boasts a variety of activities and attractions, from monuments, museums, and horse riding to braving the skydiving club or wandering around the local Hazel Food Market. If you are a nature lover, your choices are vast and visits to the Pretoria National Botanical Garden, Groenkloof Nature Reserve or The National Zoological Gardens of South Africa are popular options. Or, how about experiencing a taste of Africa on a horseback safari?

Pretoria is one of the three capital cities in South Africa and the administrative capital of the country while also being known as an academic city, being home to four large universities.
